Gili Trawangan
The liveliest of the three Gilis

Gili Trawangan — often called Gili T — is the largest and liveliest of the three Gili Islands. With no motorised traffic, the island moves at the pace of bicycles and horse-drawn cidomos.
The east coast is lined with dive centres, beach bars, and restaurants, while the west side offers quieter stretches of sand and famous sunset swings over the water.
Fast boats connect Gili T with Padang Bai and Serangan in Bali, while public boats and charters link it with Bangsal on the Lombok mainland.
Highlights
- Snorkelling with turtles straight off the beach
- Sunset viewpoints on the west coast
- Dive centres and freediving schools
- Car-free island explored by bicycle
